2007 marks record growth in American wind energy, according to the American Wind Energy Association. 5,244 megawatts of capacity were installed last year, making up 30% of all new energy capacity and a 45% increase since 2006.
In order for this trend to continue, the country needs more manufacturing of turbines, more incentives for wind farms, and much more government support for the implementation of alternative energy.
